Channel 10 has the rights to Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, according to todays Media section in the Daily Telegraph. They're going to screen it, then look at doing at local version. Plus, Ten are showing Punk'd, starting Thursday Sept 11th 7:30pm.

I have one of [livejournal.com profile] eponymous's Nick wallpapers on my work computer now, which makes me smile.

Ack, trackwork this weekend.

Thanks for the heads up.

Ten are really doing a lot of line-up shuffles at the moment. I guess Punk'd is replacing Dawson's? Do you know if they are just going to pull it from the line-up a la The Shield, or is it just shifting timeslots? At the moment it's like watching surprise TV. Surprise, we're not showing that anymore!

Any word on when Queer Eye will start? It should be fun to watch, though I would have liked to see Gaz and Waz host it as was hinted at elsewhere. Has there been any info on what they'll be doing for Channel Nine?

Oooh, good point about Dawsons Creek, I hadn't noticed that it was it's timeslot that Punk'd was filling. Ack, hope it isn't pulled altogether, I'm not watching it at the moment, but I want to see the finale.

I don't think the article mentioned a possible start date. All The Block people are going to be used in DIY shows and stuff like that, is all I've heard.

That's a shame, it would have been fun watching the boys makeover macho football types or farmers that haven't seen a town in more than a year. Of course, I suspect the end results would all involve white undies , a cackle and little else. Well, possibly a shiny tile or two...

Way more fun! Maybe Ten can still them away if they do a local version :)

With cocktails (with little umbrellas in them). I don't know why, but I feel the umbrellas are a necessity!

Squeeee!!! I was so sad when I read Channel 7 didn't have the rights after all - I thought we'd never get to see it. And Punk'd! Sniffly Justin! Pantsless Kevin! Hooray!

I know, I wanted to do a little dance round the breakroom at work (where I was reading the paper). Now I can finally get all the references to it that I've been reading for weeks *g*.

Amazing what a difference a hairstyle can make, he looks so different (but still gorgeous) in them :)

I really hope they just stick to the O/S version - Australian TV is just so much dogshit, I'd hate to see their version of Queer Eye.

Yes, me cynical.

Oh, I have no interest in a local version. I just want to see what everyone's been raving about (and the guys seemed quite adorable in their appearance at the MTV Awards, ignoring the awful banter that is standard for such things).
