Bugger! No QEFTSG
Sep. 2nd, 2003 11:58 amFrom Spike in today's SMH:
Gay TV up queer street
Two bitches are cheaper than a gaggle of queens. That seems to be the message from Channel 7, which yesterday announced it was closeting plans to buy the rights to US TV show Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. The reality program trains a straight guy - via a team of gay men - to get in touch with his feminine side by tarting him up, teaching him to cook and how to relate to women. In its place, Channel 7 will run the British "personal makeover program What Not To Wear, where two women trash-talk the contents of another's wardrobe. Channel 7 says Queer Eye was too expensive, but Spike has heard that it went limp on the concept after failing to snare as hosts the resident gays of The Block, Gavin and Wazza, who have signed their over-exposed Y-fronts to an exclusive deal with Channel Nine.
