Never make plans *yawn*
Mar. 19th, 2003 01:54 pmDidn't get enough sleep last night, so was happy that I was only working 8:30 to 12:30 today. Then, I thought, I can go home and get stuff done (bookings, bills, naps, job hunting etc.)
Then F calls from my irregular place of semi-employment, and asks me to work this afternoon as half the staff are off sick. I explain I'm dead tired, but they really need a hand, so here I am ::whimper::
Money good. Sleep better though.
Pet Peeve of the Day: people who return missed calls to their mobile without recognising the number, get a switchboard, and asked if anyone called them. Um, hello? Unless you recognise the company and remember that so-and-so that you know works there, probably give up at this point. If you must, ask if the person knows if anyone was trying to contact them. Don't um and ah and ask lots of pointless fucking questions. Either the receptionist knows if someone was trying to contact you, or they don't. And guess what? While they are probably a capable and hardworking person, they don't know every outbound call from a place.
Really, unless your a tradesperson or something, returning unrecognised missed calls without good reason is something that completely baffles me. If it's important, they'll leave a message (if possible) or get back to you.
