So there was a lot of hype and spoilers for this ep, which I tried to avoid as much as possible, and I still went in knowing that:
- It was about Finn/Rachel and Kurt/Blaine's first times
- West Side Story performance
- New Warbler, Sebastian, hits on Blaine and Warblers perform Uptown Girl
- Kurt and Blaine go to gay bar (and run into Karofsky)
- Beiste gets a boyfriend (though I didn't know it was this ep)
So I knew more than I prefer, but am glad I didn't know more, as a lot of people seem disapointed by the ep. I enjoyed the Kurt/Blaine plot (Finn and Rachel not nearly as much, though I really enjoyed her conversation with the girls). The ep was a bit rushed and choppy, unfortunately. And I'm really not sure what was going on with the editing during A Boy Like That, though Santana ruled on both that and America.

And this is me, trying to suspend my disbelief at Kurt and Blaine having dated for 8 months and still having "hands stay above waistline" policy. Stupid network tv and nearly always forgetting that there are no stops between light making out and penetrative (nearly always PIV) sex. Though it's not like that policy rules out all orgasm-related activities...
OMG I loved jealous/possessive!Kurt's attitude towards Sebastian, and the glorious dance scene. Loved the scene in the carpark, felt very real. Though now I'm annoyed - apparently spoilers are that there was mutual making out filmed for that scene. Why does Glee have the failiest fail!extras for their dvds?
But they did a goodish job of fleshing out Kurt/Blaine a bit more (and Blaine a bit more, though he still needs more stuff, especially non-Kurt interaction). And I think Darren's acting is improving. And holy crap, he has all the eyelashes in the world.

That's about how much I ever want to see of Karofsky. Good actor, but I dislike the character so much that I only wanted him brought back to give that plot a bit of a hopeful resolution. I totally assumed, when Kurt referred to his new school, that it meant Karofsky had graduated and was at college. Dude looked older than Mark Salling *rimshot*.
Unfortunately, I was so completely grossed out by Artie initiating a conversation with a teacher about sex and relationships that I fast-forwarded Beiste's whole plotline. GO AWAY ARTIE. Also, Brittany needs to stop talking. That was the opposite of funny *shudders*.
Can't wait for Jim Cantiello's Glee-cap. I only just watched last week's (as I saw a spoiler warning for it), and I love his unabashed epic love for Klaine. I think he spent more time in last week's Gleecap talking about Kurt and Blaine having sex than about the actual ep (no great loss).
And now I get to read approximately 1,749 post-episode/missing scene stories, heh :D
Glad I wasn't watching on Australian tv - apparently Channel 10 cut Blaine's reference to masturbation. Wonder what else they cut? Wow, this episode's only gonna be about 20 minutes long in the countries where they cut the gay content >:(
Kurt: Well, I can't help but pull focus
Me: just like Chris Colfer!
In conclusion: two down, hopefully only five to go!

Date: 2011-11-09 05:15 pm (UTC)All the awards to the director who gave us that shot; in addition to showing off those eyelashes, it fit perfectly with the mood that they were trying to set, just glimpses of this very intimate moment between two people in love, just the profile of Kurt's lips, his thumb stroking Blaine's shoulder, and those freaking eyelashes. Yes, I'm a sappy romantic, but I *loved* how it was filmed and shown. So tasteful and beautiful. Sigh.
