movies movies movies
Aug. 21st, 2011 09:55 pmIn the space of 8 days, I've seen three movies (at the cinema). This is kinda amazing, cause I can go for months lately without seeing one (partly due to work/study eating my life, and just general disorganisation/lack of interest/cheapness).
Last Saturday was Captain America (in 2D). I really enjoyed it, probably even more than Thor, which was also very entertaining. The cast was very goodThe special FX to have Chris Evans play the role before and after the transformation were pretty fantastic.
Oh Avengers movie, why aren't you coming out at Christmas? Gimme gimme gimme.
The last Sunday was the Glee concert movie (in 3D, as it was only released that way.
iibnf deserves a medal for putting up with my ranting and bitching. The actual concert part was very entertaining, and I'm really glad I got to see it, since they'll never bring a Glee tour here. But why why why did they have to shuffle the songs out of order, structure the movie around fan stories and footage that went on for way too long and made me feel like I was watching a narcissistic dvd extra On The Importance of Glee, cut off the beginning of some of the songs (especially Don't Stop Believing of all things, I Want To Hold Your Hand and Teenage Dream), cut Sue out of the movie, cut the freaking Kurt/Blaine skit out, and cut Jenna major singing moment by leaving out Dog Days are Over?
The only thing that was left out that I can kind of understand that there may have been a reason would be the Single Ladies dance, but I'm still annoyed by that, because they used it in the trailer (along with Sue and the Kurt/Blaine skit)! Seriously, who fucking put this thing together? The 3D-ness was okay without being great.
In conclusion, Heather Morris's boobs looked AMAZING in 3D. Slave 4 U single-handedly justified this movie's existence even if nothing else was worth it (which wasn't the case).
And today,
iibnf and I took my parents off to see Deathly Hallows Part 2, finally! (back to 2D) Very very good. Can't comment on faithfulness to book overly much, as I haven't re-read it since it was released. I thought Dan Radcliffe did a great job. Two bits made me cry - Harry seeing the ghosts of his parents and gay godfathers, and Neville's speech.
I love Hermione so much. SO MUCH. My headcanon that cannot be shaken is that she becomes Minister of Magic (or Harry does, and she's the power behind the throne) and is basically a benevolent dictator that imposes civilisation and civil rights (especially for non-human magical beings, but human rights are greatly lacking too) on the wizarding world. And all shall worship her and rejoice!
I'm so glad Neville got his moments - the speech and killing Nagini were AWESOME.
Helena Bonham Carter playing Hermione pretending to be Bellatrix was perfection. I hope that dragon was okay and recovered from its torture.
Snape was wearing so much eyeshadow for the confrontation in the Great Hall! Draco finally got a ride on Harry's broomstick.
Both dad and I groaned when we realised they were including the epilogue (we were bitching about it last night).
True story - a preview started today amd I was trying to place the actor, and then said "oh, it's that Taylor dude, the abs boy from Twilight" and swear to god, as I said abs, he took his shirt off. Also, it turned out to be a preview for the final Twilight movie, though oddly I'd totally assumed it was going to be him in something different.
So, anything coming out in the next few months that looks worth seeing?
