Help me, Obi-Wan Flist, you're my only hope!

Ok, not only hope, but I'd love love love long story recs (or links to rec pages which filter things by size). I'm off on a month-long trip to South America with my sister in a couple of weeks (OMG OMG OMG!) and would like to load a fuckton of reading material onto my Kindle before then.

They don't have to be new stories, old favourites are great too. My fandoms are varied (and am happy to try new things), though incest and underage stuff aren't my cup of tea.

The stories don't have to be mega-epics (though they are welcome), just rec away! Or if there are books that you have in e-book format that you'd recommend, that's definitely welcome too :) And if there are any you've already got saved into 1 file (where they aren't already available like that online), can I please beg a copy? Some of my fandoms include (but this is totes not an exhaustive list):
Bandom   NCIS/NCIS:LA
Buffy-verse   Popslash
Criminal Minds   Professionals
Dark Angel   Queer as Folk
Dr Who   Sentinel
Due South   Sherlock
Fast and Furious   Smallville
Glee   Star Wars
Harry Potter   Stargate/Atlantis
Hawaii 5-0   Supernatural
Highlander   Trek
Magnificent Seven   X-Files
Merlin   X-Men/other comics

Kindle's not epub, is it? or I would just send you my ao3 files and you would have a kindle full of suprise stories! I've actually been relinking a lot of my delicious bookmarks to ao3 links (http://www.delicious.com/alasen/ao3), and it's been fun reading some old stuff (astolat finally uploaded sv stories to ao3, for example). Unfortunately I can't sort ao3 bookmarks by wordcount grr. Anyway I will try and compile you a list sometime.

I understand there is/was a sale on heyer ebooks somewhere, but i still have a bunch in text file if you didn't get them from me before. I also have some decent sf/fantasy in txt/html files.

H5-0!

These are mostly AUs, hope you're okay with that.

Set fire to this card house". Danny and Steve are secret agents.

This thing of ours, it needs a better name. Danny is mafioso, Steve is a cop.

Ho'oponopono It's Groundhog Day, H5-0 style.

Alas, Kindle only like MOBI for the open-source formats, cause that'd be hilarious to read through :) But I shall definitely check out your AO3 links :) I think you were the source of

I was trying to read Diane Duane's So You Want To Be A Wizard books while skiiing, but the quality of the e-book was not good :(

THE SOURCE OF WHAT WHAT OH THE SUSPENSE

my bookmarks directly on ao3 are here, btw : http://archiveofourown.org/users/alasen.

Reading and skiing at the same time sounds difficult ;) I have obtained a fair number of ebooks of assorted quality, myself, alas.

Whoops, got distracted remembering the name of the Diane Duane books. The source of...my Heyer ebooks :)

I'm just that bad-ass, skiing and reading simultaneously. You really don't want to drop the Kindle or stack while you're doing it though.

If you filter by a tag on AO3 and then click on the 'bookmarks' button on the top right of the page you can see all bookmarked stories by how many bookmarks. You can't yet sort by no. bookmarks nor can you choose by word count in this view but it will allow, if you have time, a quick squizz of the most bookmarked stories by tags you fancy.

For example, if you pick the Merlin Big Bang tag and then look at the bookmarks you can find the big popular stories (that are posted to AO3).

Sorry I don't have any specific recs. I don't keep recs by size.

Yay for travelling! I am jealous. :D

In case you haven't seen it, Calibre is free and very handy for converting to mobi or other. Sometimes formatting is wonky, especially for pdf conversions, but it's usually pretty smooth for epubs and other ebook formats.

I don't usually sort recs by length, sorry, but I follow these delicious accounts which all have tags for length:

I keep my book collection for e-reader backed up, so you can check them out! set 1, 2, 3. they're mostly in fb2, but calibre (linked above) is really good in mass-converting everything into any format you like. hopefully something there will be interesting :)
