This was very very entertaining and unabashedly ridiculously stupid at the same time, which they established from the outset with the world's most ludicrous prison bus breakout.

I'd hate to figure out the death toll for this, but it was a lot. A WHOLE LOT.

Less gay than F&F4 (then again, I've seen porn of guys fucking that's less gay than F&F4), but still pretty damn gay (there are so many ex-boyfriends in one room! I still think Mia and Dom are sharing Brian! the intense and rather narcissistic homoeroticism of Dom vs The Rock! Brian still loves to try to crush people to death with his thighs!). Actually, I'm pretty convinced that Brian/Mia being so immediately established couple + baby-on-way was to desperately try to downplay the gay, cause it was mentioned so often in mainstream commentary on the previous film.

I knew Vince was doooooooomed - it was a narrative inevitability once he had to redeem himself. Poor Vince.

I liked Han and Gisele - I wonder how long Han has until F&F3 happens? Though this gives us surety of Dom's survival until then, right?

I would have preferred if Good Cop (I had to look up her name...Elena) hadn't actually fallen for Dom and ended up with him (again, narrative inevitability once she wore the necklace - after all, who's had Dom's necklace previously? Letty and Brian), I would have liked it more if they'd just had their deep and meaningful understanding of each other. And they were gonna need cops - half the force got killed off in that final chase (but they were all corrupt, so that's ok). It was just random tacked on compulsorily het ending. And it seems odd, given the set-up for F&F6...

I knew they hoped to do a 6th movie, but WAS SO NOT EXPECTING THAT MUCH OF A CLIFFHANGER!!!!

That baby is gonna grow up so confused about Mummy and Daddy and Uncle Dom.

I do not endorse it, but am counting down to the (fannish inevitability) of the first fic where Mia dies, and Brian and Dom raise the baby together...

I am so so excited for this movie, if only to see Matt (Vince) again. He's been so cute and funny about this movie, so I'm planning to see it at least twice. And yes, I already bitched at him about Vince dying (can he have ONE where he lives? please?)....
