Got a call about the job I'd been through the interview process for, and, to my non-surprise, I didn't get it.

After testing and interviewing a bunch of people, they decided to fill all the places internally. Apparently I was the top candidate (or one of the top), but that's cold comfort now. Slight ego-boost to know that I got the best marks on the aptitude test that we did.

Better send off some more job applications. I want money.

Yup. Management, that is, I get the impression they've been screwing the guy that I was dealing around as much as they've ended screwing the applicants around.
