Cobra Starship are opening for Maroon 5? But I don't think I want to pay to see Maroon 5 :( Life is hard, yo. (Also, Maroon 5 + Cobra + Sara Bareilles seems like a weird combo)

Ugh, I don't want to think about most of the Bieste or Puck&Artie storylines, and the mash-ups, while they're growing on me, weren't as good as the S1 mashups. And you know, while I'm not a Rachel-centric fan, I do quite enjoy her some of the time (when they aren't giving all the songs to her), and it's getting kind of ridiculous how under-used she is this season, though she's still getting more than poor Mercedes.

To steal from Jim Cantiello's very amusing musical Gleecaps - Can we go back to the Kurt storyline? that's all anyone cares about anyway...

OMG HEARTS IN MY EYES WATCHING KURT WITH HEARTS IN HIS EYES WATCHING BLAINE. That was just adorable and sweet and I don't think we've ever seen Kurt smile like that. Ever. And I listened to the song a bunch of times today, so good! New Directions is gonna have to bring it at Sectionals to beat the Warblers IMO. It was hard not to give in and watch the sneak peek of the performance, but was totes worth the wait :) Blaine's advice was not necessarily the best idea, but still better than Will "wow Kurt, the tormenting, harrassment and physical abuse seems to be getting you down more than it used to" Schuester (and he was still more likeable this ep than last!)

But on the whole, I like Blaine, I want him to stick around at least for a bit (and I've railed about the bloated cast before). It was the delivery of "well he's not coming out anytime soon" that sealed it for me.

As for the Karofsky storyline - just as I was starting to wonder if they were going the "homophobic bully is secretly gay" route, bam! he kisses (assaults, really) Kurt. I don't care if it is cliche, it was a damn powerful scene. And I'm hoping that with any continuation of this, we'll get revisits with Azimo(?) and others, so that it doesn't seem like the show is suggesting that all homophobic bullies are secretly gay. But damn, who knew that guy could act? Chris Colfer was fantastic all episode, but I'm totally biased.

True story - I just went to Youtube and listened to about 13 seconds of Katy Perry singing Teenage Dreams. Two things: a) despite it charting high in Australia and going double platinum, I don't think I've ever heard that song before, and b) while I adore the Glee version, I hate her version.


I feel like I've never watched a show where a queer character and their potential romantic storylines gets as much media attention as Kurt does on Glee? Or have I just not been paying attention? The downside to watching a popular show like this and poking around the fandom and media coverage is that its really fucking hard to avoid spoilers.

Oh I hate the Katy Perry as well, it's not just you. Darren Criss hit that number out of the park. WE NEED MORE GODDAMNED MALE VOCAL HARMONY ON THIS SHOW.

Hearts in my eyes for Kurt! I'm really loving Colfer's facial acting, he managed to get so much nuance out of his storyline this ep. ♥_♥

I was really disappointed in and bored with this episode, even the musical numbers couldn't save it for me. The Kurt storyline was the only thing I found interesting. It needed more and better musical numbers and less talking.

I'm with you 100% on this episode of Glee. Loved Blaine, loved Kurt, even really appreciated the Karofsky/Kurt scene. (those two actors really pulled it off) And Sue's one scene with the confetti canons was fun.

I was also really amused by the Tina/Mike bit even though I didn't particularly care for the Bieste storyline.

I have such mixed feelings about Glee, but I really love Kurt and I'm glad he's getting so much attention. I think part of the reason he's getting so much attention in the media is because of the recent suicides and the It Gets Better videos. He's pretty much the one character on the show that I love no matter what.

It's the first time I've seen it done so obviously in a mainstream show that EVERYONE is watching.

It's awesome, because it means I get to have reasonable conversations with my mother re: gay people, and am having squee-worthy conversations with my sister over Kurt/Blaine which means I will very shortly introduce her to Kirk/Spock and she'll hopefully follow me into a greater (fandom) world. ;)

The sad thing about Schuester was at least he seemed to be trying this episode - and was still a douchebag. Though at least Bieste didn't mind the kiss, so I guess I can't hold that against him too much, though it bothered me.

Chris Colfer is just amaaaaaazing. He is so expressive, you see everything that Kurt's thinking and feeling.

I found the amount of musical numbers about right, it was nice to have more non-singing plot time, I just wish the numbers (apart from Teenage Dream) were...better.

I loved the Kurt portion of the episode. Most everything else was kinda meh, with some amusing bits (like Rachel's "SPIES!")

Mixed feelings is almost an understatement as to how I feel about Glee. Kurt keeps me going through the crap, though.

I think you're right, its the timing that has pushed Kurt's prominence even further.

The comment about Kurt's media coverage outside the cut is something I've been thinking since the hiatus, when it seemed one of the major things the media would ask about was "when will Kurt get a boyfriend?"

I'm just relieved that I'm not the only person with problems with this episode. The few other comments I read on lj and other places were people thinking it was the most fabulous episode ever. This was the first episode for me that I very nearly ended up fastforwarding through the musical numbers and as for the mess that was the storylines...

Ah, phew! :) Out of the spoilers I've not managed to dodge, a number are song spoilers, and there's only one Kurt-related plot spoiler (and even then I'm unsure as to how it will happen), and it's not directly about his potential boys. So I have nothing to offer!
