Feb. 2nd, 2010 10:49 pmIn other news, am trying to decide which is worse - hearing the truth (as things are right now with Pete) or being told "we're on hiatus" for far too long (you know who you are, boyband of broken promises).
Either way, I'll just always be grateful for Folie a Deux. It came out of nowhere, with them being all secretive about working on it, when I'd been preparing myself for a long break after finally getting into the band. And it's awesome. And while it isn't the last track on the album, "What a Catch, Donnie" is such a beautiful farewell to the group, that I think I've been preparing myself for this news since I first heard it.
And I'll be grateful that I've seen them live three times, plus accidentally turned into lobby-stalking fans with friends (but fuck FOB, we were there first) and danced in a park while listening to them play onboard a Navy vessel across the bay from us.
I'm not omgwtf? shocked like with Panic, mostly because that was just so much more bizarre. I'm still surprised sometimes when I think of it.
