I saw Avatar (in 3D) last night with my sister and N, and was blown away. It is so gorgeous and so well-made, it is an amazing piece of visual art.

I can't say that I loved the film as a whole. Good cast (sidenote: I totally thought Sam Worthington looked like Misha Collins at times), but as for the plot...you've seen/read it many times before, it's problematic, and terribly unsubtle (the anvils, they hurt!). I still cared about the characters though.

But I'd still totally recommend that people see it, on the big screen. Despite the flaws, I kind of want to see it again, just to revel in the beauty.

And I saw the trailer for Sherlock Holmes for the first time. It made me lol, I must see it. I'll just keep telling myself that its a Bizarro 'verse version of Holmes or something :)

This is what everyone's saying. But I don't give a damn about how visually stunning it is, so with that in mind, should I see it anyway?

I can't see why you'd bother in that case :)

On the other hand, I loved the visuals so much that I'm can't really grok But I don't give a damn about how visually stunning it is.

Yeah, I think I'll pass in that case. Thanks!

The Sherlock Holmes trailer, much like the trailer for Dorian Gray, made me want to stab the director and scriptwriter in the genitals. I take my 19th century literature VERY SRSLY. :(

On the other hand, the trailer for Alice just turns me into a fangirl. Stephen Fry! JOHNNY DEPP OMG.

I got completely wrapped up in the story and the characters, despite it being a cliche from beginning to end.

I dunno. I think I'm being a bit of a Grinch about this one, for whatever reason.

I did care (it nearly broke my heart when spoilery major bad thing happened), but it was the sheer luscious beauty that really made me ♥__♥.

I've read Holmes (or at least some of it, but am not so sufficiently attached that I won't see this :) Haven't seen the Alica trailer yet.

Yeah, it had me crying, and that's pretty rare for a movie these days.
