Bolted off from work at 5pm on Friday night, to get home and then out to the Enmore Theatre to see All-American Rejects, supported by Hoobastank and The Sundance Kids. I was by myself but communicated with
mel_b_angel, but she was in the balcony and thus we were doomed to be separated. I had a front floor ticket, and staked out a spot at the right hand edge of the stage, about half/two thirds of the way back in that area, where the floor is sloping up nicely. Good view of the stage. Didn't want to bother with carrying my camera (I was all about the bare minimum), but I've found a video or two online.
Got there shortly before Hoobastank's set (so can't comment on Sundance Kids) but I enjoyed them while being unfamiliar with most of the songs. The response from the crowd was decent, except for the snippet of the Ghostbusters theme (should have been longer!) and The Reason (the crowd went off!)
Rejects were AWESOME. Tyson remains crazy. Dude was dressed as Pee Wee Herman, except for the last few songs where he was just in a tight pair of striped pants, no shirt, but liberally dusted in pink glitter. Its a look that works for him. Nick remains deeply attractive to me, like GUH. I was on the wrong side of the stage for him, but fortunately had a clear view across or I probably would have had to move. Mike somehow manages to make a deeply unfortunate haircut (long hair with part buzzed short) work for him. Great selection of songs and great crowd response. I couldn't actually make out fully what Tyson was rambling on about at times, I'm not sure whether this is a bad thing or not.
This video has clips from Hoobastank and AAR, including Tyson half nekkid.
There was some adorable/fun moments between all of them, including Tyson on his knees giving Nick's guitar a bj. I could probably have done without Tyson humping his bass DNW.
This video of Gives You Hell is filmed from near the front and has good nutty Tyson :D
All in all, I do not regret going, A+ concert, would jump around stupidly again.
I started to write this post on the weekend. Since then, I've gotten sick (left work before lunch yesterday and didn't make it in today) and we've started having the house painted (yay, fumes!) which hasn't made being at home the most fun thing in the world. My throat, it hurts bad. I better be well by Friday, cause I'm going to the TAI show no matter what. But I sacked out on the couch and rewatched a bunch of American Idol.
Speaking of which - lol at Adam reading Robbie Williams' autobiography. I kept thinking that when Simon talked about Adam as a potential international superstar, that Robbie would be one of the people that he had in mind as an example (except for hopefully breaking big in the US market).
HOLY SHIT. EXCUSE MY LANGUAGE..BUT JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE IN CONERT IN VEGAS WITH TAYLOR SWIFT!!!! AND ALICIA KEYS! AND MORE!? BRB..GONNA GO DIE.
oh Singer, never change. I love his righteous defensiveness over being called a fanboy for making that tweet.
