oh lol. just saw an ad for the Bledisloe rugby this weekend that was so over the top and tongue in cheek (I hope), talking about the Army of Darkness and the Army of Light.

Um, translation for most of you - it's Australia (in gold jerseys) vs the New Zealand All Blacks. And given that we haven't beaten the Army of Darkness at this venue in Auckland in 23 years, well, I have some hope, but it's hope tempered by many dashed hopes over the years.

Skipped out on the gym tonight, and took my parents out for yummy Lebanese food instead. The kitchen is progressing - a lot of the new cupboards are in and look very smart, though we're still a couple of weeks from being finished.

Still kinda annoyed that I was spoiled by a number of people on my f-list for Torchwood, despite only skimming through things in the time before I had a chance to watch it last weekend >:( seperis and arysteia explain my crankiness better than I could (posts contain spoilers for CoE). And the comments to this post could end up containing spoilers.

omg, I was SO ANNOYED by the spoilers! They were even in comments of posts about completely unrelated fandoms!!

I saw spoilery stuff in posts in other fandom communities! Not even the comments.

But it was just so obvious from what people had outside cut-tags, people who aren't even in TW fandom could figure out what had happened.

The ones I saw, for the most part, were people who probably thought they were being good in terms of spoilers, but the comments and reactions outside out cut-tags, multiplied across many posts, made it completely obvious what had happened.

Grargh! And weirdly, I was so annoyed by the spoilers that when I finally watched it, the lingering annoyance outweighed the emotional reaction of the spoiled thing!

I was kind of spoiled for Torchwood because I didn't realize that the series had already commenced overseas and that the US wouldn't be seeing it until a later date. My FList was all up in arms, one person especially, who didn't have outright spoilers in her journals entries, but in her comments. Not to mention the fact I knew which character she favored and became very dismayed. :(
