My sides hurt from laughing. Yes, I finally got around to watching John Barrowman's appearance on Nevermind the Buzzcocks.

Also, my "pimping shows to co-worker T" mojo remains strong. I gave him the first 11 episodes of Criminal Minds last week, and he told me today he was very annoyed with me - he'd already finished them and needed more NOW! I also helped my sister-in-law get him into Buffy/Angel (years ago), and more recently got him hooked on Heroes and Supernatural (though he already liked Jensen Ackles from Dark Angel, so it wasn't hard). However, he has yet to finish Dr Who Tenth Doctor eps and get started on Torchwood - he keeps rewatching S1 of the OC instead. If he weren't gay and if I didn't hate people, I'd marry that man.

Also, do you know what the second-highest selling album was in Australia last year? I'm Not Dead, by Pink. No wonder her tour sold so fucking well.

I wasn't going to bother with the NMtB, but I think I will now :-)

It's a silly show (GNW/GNWeekend was totally a ripoff of this, or they both were based on the same thing), but John is goodlooking and silly, and the host is in lurve.

Huh, really? Because it seems much more like Spicks and Specks to me.

We killed ourselves laughing. There were tears running down my face, and not just at the John Barrowman stuff -- though thanks to him Lonely Goatherd (or whatever it's called) will never be the same.

Your pimp-fu is very very strong indeed as I know to my great sparkliness joy (though we're still waiting to start watching Torchwood - QaF and West Wing keep taking precedence).

Here's where I confess that I've never seen Spicks and Specks. But it's very reminiscent of the format of GNW generally to me (comedian host who's the one talking like 50% of the time, two teams of three with two permanent captains and four guests, with the entertainment based content of Good News Weekend (I think they used to play the Next Line game, didn't they?).

I shalln't hurry you then - since I love both QaF and West Wing :)

I have a feeling GNW was based on another British show, in the long tradition of ABC shows being variations of BBC shows. Ah, here it is; Have I Got News for You. And here's some info about Spicks & Specks.
