yay, downloading Heroes already! Fandom rocks :)

Well, I certainly picked a good day not to go to work (I wanted to get over this cold, since being well for classes and exams is more important to me right now than work). It ended up meaning I could spend a couple of hours chatting (and talking) to some of my favourite people about Chris and other random things :) But now I'm sad cause the scenarios we were tossing around will never come to be (and would be far superior to reality) - especially Chris and Kevin deciding to form a pop supergroup and they do it as Rockstar: Popstar or something, where they would totally proceed to make out even more than Tommy Lee and Dave Navarro did.

Actually, if someone wants to write an AU story around that premise, with the various pop boys and girls as contestants, I'm not too proud to grovel.

I did also like my idea that the fifth member of the Manband would actually be one of the original-later-dumped Backstreet Boys (Charles or the other one) or Jason-the-original-other-n-in-Nysnc. Who would of course quit or be dumped right towards the end of the show and replaced with Kevin or Lance, and then never referred to again.

The complete show. Professionally filmed, but the sound and picture quality isn't the greatest.

*loves the AU idea your brain*

I'm obviously going to have to get an aim account if this kind of stuff continues to happen. I'm flailing all solo here.

Seriously, AJ writhing around the stage in leather, performing in the Rockstar competition, is gonna stick in my head for a while. Mmmmm.

I'm not AIM a huge amount of the time, but it'd be great to chat! :)

Glad I could share it! :) It's nice having the various webcasts, if only we had a dvd to go with them...

You know, if I didn't had a thousand WiPs going on right now, I would totally write that for you. (what can I say, Kevin/Chris gets me every time)

Heroes rocks like a rocking thing. I think I love Hiro.

If someone wants to write that, I'd be happy to gift them with some home-baked cookies for their trouble. I'm just sayin.

Your idea of adding in a 'never-was' (as opposed to a 'has-been') sounds like it'd make for interesting television, but I don't think it has the same level of attraction for the ratings. Charles or Jason or whoever else couldn't cut it the first time around. I can see how they might wonder "What if... ?" and possibly want a 2nd chance, but why would anyone want to give it to them?

And I'll be d/l'ing that Rio show when I get home. Thanks in advance.

*swallows tongue*

Right when I'm in the middle of an AJ phase. *whimpers* I SO didn't need to have that image in my head when I still have a class to get through.

You're welcome!

I would be deeply shocked if they had a not-really-Backstreet-Boy in the show, it's definitely not something I'd expect from them. We were just tossing silly ideas around *g*.

Yeah. I'm just not sure which way to direct my theory formulation. Either the 5th person is some big name they're saving (not likely), or it's so low on the boyband food chain that we won't recognize it even if they tell us the band, or they haven't suckered a 5th guy in, yet.

But they know they need five, right?

If they want it to be like a real boyband, this really should be mandatory!

AJ writhing around the stage in leather

I've completely missed that. Um. Guh! Was that in the last series of Rockstar? or the INXS one?

I've resisted AIM for years. But I think fandom may drag me there (story of my life!!!!!).

And I appear to have completely chilled about Manband - though I still shudder before giggling at the title.

Just a particularly vivid image that is haunting me, sadly not based on anything specifically ;)

I'm kind of over it now, though at times when I see mention of it, I still don't feel great about it.

I think most of my negative reaction came from an extreme distrust and hatred of reality television. I don't want to get emotionally invested in that kind of thing. And I so so will in Manband.

But I am going to follow the blind trust in Chris that other fans are expressing and hope for the best. And hopefully try and gain some perspective so if it's a trainwreck crossed with roadkill I will at least be able to laugh.

Is your negative reaction exacerbated by House of Crack?

Black & Blue, wheeeee!!! Downloading like the wind! The things I regret most about being a latecoming fan is not getting to see this show - all that leather *drool* and it's such a big, spectacular performance. Well, I would have loved to see PopOdyssey too, but they never toured in Europe so I wouldn't have had a chance to see it even if I had been a fan back then.

Hmmm, House of Carters is both better and worse than I expected, though I didn't have definite expectations, just amorphous dread. Its certainly more boring at times than I expected.

I think my dread about this is just my perception that shows like this are marketed as being about desperate has-beens, which is a label I don't want for any of the guys.

Never Gone was the first real tour they brought to Australia, so really, I timed my fangirlishness just right for BSB! Nsync have never been to Australia, so I would have had to be earliar and get myself over to the US, so I'm just glad I went to Challenge last year :)

Yeah... has-been is a terrible epithet, and working in media I get concerned that no matter the material its the spin the marketing execs put on it that makes.

Mind you, at least one member of a successful boyband usually gets a career out of it... maybe Chris will get to be that this time through.

That should say "the spin the marketing execs put on it is what sells and what is remembered."

doh!
