This is sweet, Nick surprising tinytiny!Aaron on stage, who bursts into tears (and Nick's not exactly dry-eyed himself). It's also sad, because of how fucked up their family is. They hadn't seen each other in months, and I can't remember why I think this, but apparently Jane had been punishing Nick by not letting him see Aaron. And then she wonders why none of her kids talk to her now.

That is some of the very very first footage I ever saw. At the time, I didn't realize how special it really was. It's sad how fucked up their family is, but I love how much they clearly adore each other.

Oh wow. I think...my ovaries just died and went to heaven? Because that is the adorablest adorable thing ever in history. We always see Nick as the baby of the group and the lil (big?) brother of everyone...so this right here, THIS is why House of Carters is going to be so cracktastic.

The Carter family is a long and twisted tale, and it depends on who you listen to. Basically, these days Nick doesn't talk to his mum (and all but one of his siblings are the same), and I don't think he's got a lot to do with his dad either. His parents have split up, his dad's remarried (to a women named Ginger, who is the same age as his daughter Ginger from his first marriage) with a young child. Jane is seen as the archetype for domineering stage mothers, who would run to the press to talk shit about Nick when he wouldn't do what she wanted (and would stop him from seeing his siblings).
