back from up north
Jul. 15th, 2006 11:38 pmI'm back, and sad cause it's cold here, and it was lovely and hot in the Northern Territory. Plus there was gorgeous scenery, crocodiles, millions of birds and much other cool stuff. However, my own bed + own bathroom + internet makes me a happy girl, so it works out ;)
I'm skimmed through some bits of my friendslist, but I haven't caught up now (I've been home for a day, but was out for lunch with school friends and out for the evening with family), so I shouldn't try to fool myself that I'm going to. Did I miss anything I should know about? Is there anything happening around here at the moment, need to see friends :)
Here's half a dozen pretty holiday pictures (if I do say so myself - but it's hard to not get nice photos of this part of Australia).
And thank you all - I haven't had a chance to watch SG1 and SGA yet (due to social commitments), but haven't been spoiled yet. My friendslist rocks!

Florence Falls in Litchfield National Park

Kakadu National Park

Arnhem Land (individuals and tours have to have permission from traditional owners to enter)

Not the biggest crocodile we saw, but he posed nicely on the bank for the tourists.

Yellow Water [1] in Kakadu is one of the most popular areas, and for good reason. We did both dawn and dusk boat trips out on it. Amazing scenery + amazing array of birds, bot in varieties and numbers, but my sister has a better camera so I need to get the animal shots from her.

Can click for bigger versions of both of these.
