2. You could try a different compression option, whatever is listed.

Or, this is a zip file for Virtual Dub. You should be able to open the VOB files with it, and save them to avi.
Video > Compression > try divx or see what other codecs are available.
Audio > Full Processing Mode > Compression > can be set in here.

It only has the one option = DV Video, and that's the one that gives me huge files.

I'll have a look at virtual dub. If that doesn't work, then I'll see if I can find something to make the files smaller. I mean, they're fine, they work as AVI files, but they're HUGE!
