I'm home - and I've had an absolutely fabulous time. Big kisses and hugs to everyone who was in Chicago who I didn't see to say bye to, it was great meeting everyone, I just wish I had more time to spend with you all.
The travelling and sightseeing portion of my trip went very smoothly, and I'll be posting more about everything (with pictures) in the next few days I hope.
There were only three downsides to Challenge: it needed to go for much longer, I was totally not ready to leave; the club situation (I got in, thanks to amazing luck and a generous stranger) but it sucked so much that so few did; and that I was sick. Came down with a nasty case of plague[1] on Friday (didn't think I was sick for a while, blamed various things on karaoke aftereffects and not eating), but by the time I went to bed early Friday night feverish (so much so that it didn't occur to me to take paracetamol or anything) my denial was over. Major apologies to anyone who comes down with post-Challenge lurgy cause of me :(
My sister is going to call and make a doctors appointment for me, I have almost no voice at all. Way worse than when I left Chicago, I'm reduced to whispering, though the ear pains are mostly gone, and didn't bother me too much on the flight thankfully. I've never lost my voice this badly before, and I've got quite a cough. Probably just post-viral, but I start classes again tomorrow, so I need to get it checked out. Hopefully she'll be able to get away from work early and go to school with me, to help sort stuff out.
It's nice to be home, but sad too.
[1] I'm not a doctor, it could be the plague for all I know.
