Oh Kevin! I knew you'd say something like this sooner or later. The article is talking about the group becoming underdogs, starting when NSA broke their first week sales record and Nsync did the half time show at the Superbowl when the Boys sang the anthem etc etc.

"We don't want to bad-mouth them because they're as talented as hell. They may hold the record for most albums sold in a week or whatever, but if you go look at record sales, on every album we put out, we outsold them, in the United States and all over the world. And we're still together."

Two recent radio interviews, both from 20th May, thanks to SueJ. According to AJ, concert dates will be announced just after the cd goes on sale, probably starting in West Palm Beach FL on July 22nd. Oh well, don't need to try and fit a sidetrip into my holiday (I leave July 17) so they better make it to Australia *g*.

It's true, Kevin likes to pipe up about this subject. Granted, I was in always in their corner even a year ago but since I share my luv of them with 'Nsync now; I am just sick of it.

you know, it's funny though. I never *knew* that bsb had outdone nsync as far as overall sales go, worldwide, til someone told me. by the way the press treats them (not to mention the size and activity level of the two fandoms) I had just assumed that NSync was the leader, all around. So I can see where he'd want to get that info out. :)

It was actually a lot more diplomatic than some of the things I've joked Kevin might say ;) And hell yeah, when asked about being portrayed as underdogs in the media, I'd point out that I'd consistently outsold Nsync if I was him too. I was surprised when I learnt that a while back, it so isn't the impression you get from media/fandom. Black and Blue outsold Celebrity in the US, yet B&B was consistently considered to have done worse the way it was talked about (I think Celebrity is the better album, but that's not quite the point *g*).

And the reason I've particularly joked about him saying something like this is I wanted something far less diplomatic, to fire the Nsync guys up and make them do another album to spite Kevin ;)

Poor AJ, all stressed and blaming someone else in the group for accidentally leaking Incomplete. Howie needs to relax the Sweet D persona and let his inner bitch out more often.

I love how people are outraged about Kevin's comments. Apart from whether the Superbowl stuff is true or not (and apparently there was stuff about this at the time, but I thought it was more than BSB didn't have time to prepare for the halftime show, so they did the anthem), how dare he comment on them selling more than Nsync (which is true) when asked about being portrayed as the underdogs to them. And the dig at the end is perfect!

I love that BSB air their dirty laundry in public so much more than Nsync. They're just more honest ;)

I'm not surprised BSB actually sold more than 'N Sync, especially in worldwide sales. I believe BSB has a bigger and stronger fan base worldwide. They started earlier than 'N Sync, and they built their career from outside U.S. before attacking the U.S, unlike 'N Sync.

'N Sync SEEMED like they did better than BSB, sales wise, was maybe because of that 2.4m one-week record sales and all these media attention on them from then on. Those kinda overshadowed the record sales. But heck, do I really care about the record sales? No! I only care about them making good music. And definitely the sparkly slashiness they blind us!

It is interesting how the general feeling about the sales doesn't match the actuality.
