back from Perth
Feb. 7th, 2009 12:05 pmI'm back from a week in Perth, which is a gorgeous city. Spent the weekend hanging out with
not_nele, her bf and family (who are all awesome) and met up with some locals for yum cha :)
The rest of the week was graduate induction/training for work, which was a mixture of fun, useful and boring (since I've been there for 6 months already, so some of the training was not relevant). Not nearly as bad as I feared, and the girl I was rooming with was really nice. About 55 graduates (and undergrads), 3 of whom are twins - what are the odds? It did get rather draining, and I didn't go out clubbing etc with the others as after a full day of training plus dinner, I was sick of people and talking once we were free by 9 or 10pm. We had Wednesday night free, and a small group of us had a few drinks and ended up at a really nice Greek restaurant in Northbridge, so yummy.
But it is very nice to be back in my own bed, even if the hotel room was very comfortable (pity their food was a bit crap).
I lucked out on the flights - both going over and coming back I had an empty seat next to me \o/ And the flight going over was pretty full, and coming back it was REALLY full (the 8 of us had problems checking in and were seated all over the plane once we finally got it sorted out).
I've done a quick skim of my f-list on ?show=p back to about ?skip=450, and have about 20 tabs of stuff open, but please let me know if there's anything that you think I need to see :)
