I can't remember how to make lj posts with any substance (or lacking substance, which I suspect they mostly did, at least length). So, um...
I graduated last Thursday! It was quite a nice ceremony. I'd been selected as the graduate speaker (lol still not sure why), and had stupidly agreed, so I made a somewhat-lame speech about university experience, thanking our support teams, and how this was the beginning of learning not the end blah blah blah. Graduates + family + faculty, it was probably around 500 or so people (+/- 100, I'm not good at estimating numbers of people).
iibnf and I went to the Art Gallery last weekend. It was fun, apart from the blisters that haven't completely healed yet. Absolutely the best thing I saw was the Doctor Who fanart in the Dobell Drawing Prize. It was done as engravings on broken shards, like the remains of something an archaeologist had found. It was writing about the Doctor and companions (old school), along with little drawings of daleks etc. Awesomely done.
I couldn't plow through much of Frank's freshman writing, but it did make me go back and read a couple of my essays from first year uni (the first time around!). I'm not sure whether that was a mistake or not - I'd certainly forgotten I had a intellectual crush on Johannes Kepler. Oooh, discuss the major anatomical features that distinguish gracile Australopithecines from Homo Sapiens - actually, I really enjoyed comparative anatomy. Especially the clash of personalities, the battles between Leakeys and co vs the discoverers of Lucy etc.
( brief spoilery thoughts on Heroes 3x01 and 3x02 )
