vaudevilles has sent me Crude-O!!!! The bestest, most gorgeously made, slashiest board game ever! It's Cluedo, but you have to deduce the pairing/location/reason (ie Jim/Blair, in the gay club, cause aliens made them do it). We played it at
get__together, and I was in such awe of their craftsmanship and the sheer coolness. Can't wait for the exams to be over in a few weeks so I can actually see my friends and show this off and play it again (apart from
iibnf, who I've seen lately but doesn't count since she was there too, and I really must post about our Smallville marathons - oh the pain and the amusement).
Though my poor sister - I was showing it off to her, and she's going around reading the pairings, and I'm thinking "huh, hope she doesn't ask about Chris/JC" (don't think I've ever spoken to her about RPS), when she hits Sam/Dean and starts freaking out, heeeee. Clearly the incest squick runs in the family. Apart from that she was very impressed :)
I didn't put a bet on the Melbourne Cup (the horse race that stops the nation) and wasn't at work to go in the sweeps, so my mum and my sister got horses for me in their office sweeps. I thought I was gonna go so well, I got Yeats in my sister's sweep (highly fancied) and got a horse in mum's sweep that I hadn't heard anything about (not that I've been paying attention) - Delta Blues. Lost track of time and turned the tv on just in time to see the end of the race - Delta Blues winning it by a nose. Yay me! Yay $20 for winning the $2 sweep! My sister made over $100 (net) at the TAB, she had $5 to win and $5 to place on Delta Blues, and $5 to place on both the second and third place getters, and mum had some winning bets too. We are so part of the herd, it's the one day a year any of us would even give a horse race (or betting on it) a second thought.
To my American friends - Happy Voting Day! Vote early, vote often!
