post-con slump

sinpozium is still going, but I'm at home trying to study for an exam on Wednesday. 40 slashers, some who know each other, many who didn't, descended onto a hotel in Sydney, and chaos only vaguely ensued *g*. I had a good time, I hope everyone else did, and that I wasn't too high-strung for the whole weekend ;) We had fandom pimpings, games, activities, viewings and some fabulous discussions (I kept putting off leaving last night because the discussion about building and maintaining UST and tension in stories was just too damn interesting, then we started on dealing with evolving canon and what makes an AU and I still couldn't leave *g*).

Thanks to everyone who did stuff and brought things along to share, everyone was marvellous. I didn't attend everything (don't think any one person did), sometimes you just have to get out and about for a bit (I kept wandering in and out of some discussions cause I just couldn't sit still). Once or twice I wanted to grab a meal early so I could be back early, or wanted some time with people in smaller groups.

Met many many fabulous people and can't remember half their names now. Caught up with friends, both local and from interstate. Watched some very fun stuff. Pimped Veronica Mars and interested some people, but didn't really get a chance to pimp pop (though inflicted some clips on people - I just had to show the BSB cannabilism clip to the other popfans who hadn't seen it yet *g*).

Have skimmed through lj back to skip=250, hopefully haven't missed anything major. Must get back to studying now. Really.

ETA: going ok to forage for coke. Need caffeine and sugar, stat.

How well trained do I have my family? My dad told me earlier that Backstreet are on Rove tomorrow night! I must remember to tape it - I'll capture and share it on Wednesday after my exam. Hmmm, according to the Rove Live website, it's only Nick and AJ. Ah well,it's Boys doing promo on an Aussie show, I'll take it even if it's only two of five via satellite *g*.

Plus, I have the cd single for Incomplete - girl_clone and I looked for it yesterday, thinking it might be on the shelves already (release date was today), but departed empty-handed. Later, alasen came back to the Sinpoz hotel with cds for us, since not_nele did the far too logical thing and asked about it. I really hope that shop counts towards ARIA sales totals, I think we cleaned them out.

Can't wait for Behind the Music, hope the files are available quickly. I'll have to take a break from studying tomorrow for that. Some might consider that screwy priorities. I consider it being realistic ;)
