D'oh!

I suddenly noticed that it was nearly the end of the month and I had over a gig I hadn't used, so I've been downloading a few things. But none of the avis that I downloaded would play the picture. It took me far too long to wonder if I needed to upgrade DivX (considering the number of times I've had that problem on computers here, as well as friends computers *g*).

But it turned out I didn't necessarily need to upgrade DivX. I just needed to actually have it installed! I thought it was still there, but it must have been lost when Windows died. And because I still don't have sound working, I haven't been watching anything on this computer, so I hadn't noticed. Ooops :)

And yes, the lack of sound is driving me bonkers. However, my sister needs the computer for study, so we haven't had a chance to take it for repairs.
