erilynOk, I've spent half the day watching LiveDaily for reports from the Backstreet concert at the House of Blues (to raise money for hurricane victims). ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
eponymous told me I should post some of the snippets I've been finding, to save others from having to do the same ;)
There were a couple of local acts as openers (and Hulk Hogan's daughter!), then Boyz II Men performed to a great reception, but reports say the roof almost came off the place when the Boys came on.

Songs performed included (may be incomplete and not quite correct order): The Call, Shout (which Nick did on his solo tour), Shape of my heart, Rumors, Beautiful Woman, Climbing the walls (Nick played guitar), The One, I want it that way, More than that, Show Me the Meaning, All I Have To Give (hat dance!), As Long as You Love Me, I'll Never Break Your Heart, Poster Girl (mentioned again as first single), Larger than Life and Quit Playing Games, then Drowning and Everybody (Backstreet's Back) as the encore. Some of the older songs were reworked a bit, saw a very positive comment about LTL.
The atmosphere sounds like it was great, it was sold out and the crowd just went nuts. The guys danced a lot, apart from AJ, who someone said seemed a bit frustrated at not being able to dance (the others literally danced around him a bit). They said he should be ok and dancing within a couple of weeks. And awww, Denise was there, cause AJ looked up toward VIP & said "I love you mom". Also spotted, AJ's girlfriend Katie and Leigh B.
"The Boys are 100% back. They were playing around onstage alittle bit and sounded/looked great and even Brian was making his funny faces & Kevin was shaking his butt so much. There was one part when we the fans started singing while they were lined up on stage with there heads down and I looked at Howie and he had a grin from ear to ear. They were really happy to be back." - Smitty at LD.
Joey was there! And not only that...(before the show) "he got on stage and they said how no one ever thought they would ever see a Nsync at a BSB concert and he said oh well and actually dissed and I mean dissed all of the Nsync guys....he was saying like who cared about Justin or Chris and who the heck is Lance Bass anyways he said. All anyone needed was him. He was throwing his arms up in the air when he was saying it. I am sure he was joking but it was funny." - from allydeb at the MFC. Heee, I love Joey! *g* She also referred to Lou P being there, I'm hoping that wasn't who I'm assuming it was. And apparently Nick threw his hat into the crowd, and security had to break up a fight between some fans over it, d'oh!

When the music finally started for Backstreet the crowd was going nuts…! It was just so amazing to see them , so close and all together! And they acted so close to each other.. looked like they were having the time of their lives!
Brian was amazing.. his voice sounded better than ever and he hit his high note in INBYH perfectly! He was very attentive to poor AJ and kept going over to clown with him and try to include him.. I thought that was very sweet. At one point a fan threw a stuffed duck up on stage which he caught and it looked like he mouthed “ For Baylee?”. He has slimmed down a LOT, he changed shirts at one point into a tank top and he is looking fine. It read is “your cup half empty or half full?” ( or the other way ‘round?)
Howie.. he couldn’t stop smiling! There was one song where they were all supposed to be standing looking at the floor with their eyes shut and he couldn’t do it.. he kept looking up a little and grinning because the crowd was screaming like crazy! He’d close his eyes and put his head down, then peek again! It so was so cute. He was all into the dancing and doing all kinds of little hip swiveling! And *I* got a big smile, eye contact and a wink! Luckily I’m fairly tall and was behind a lotta short people! He was giggling after the hat dance ‘cos no one dropped their hats!! He had a lead in CTW too, go Howie!
Kevin. Holy hell, he looked SO GOOD. His dancing was great and he was touching hands and having fun! He threw water on us Thanks Kevin! And at one point Nick went over and leaned down and Kev dumped water all over Nicks head. Kevin chewed gum through the whole thing! How he can sing and dance and not choke or spit it out I don’t know! He was wearing these really nicely fitting jeans with a chain and a studded belt he must have stolen from AJ’s closet. During Shout he put his mic stand across his shoulders…
Nick…ok the bald head is growing on me..when you see him in person and he’s acting like our Nick ..it makes the whole package come together. He was full of his usual energy. He and AJ did Shout and it was SO good!! They were really cute together on that one. At one point Nick and Howie were trying to sway together to the music and they just couldn’t get in synch with it, it was funny. As they were going off stage he threw water at AJ’s face! I think it was during QPG he got the giggles so bad he couldn’t sing and said to the crowd “ You guys just sing it” . The boy can play guitar!! VERY impressed.. till he dropped it.
AJ looked really happy at times, and like a sad lost puppy at other times. He came out with sunglasses on but luckily he ditched those pretty quick and you could see his pretty eyes. During the hat dance he just sat on a stool on the back half of the stage.. they could at least have brought him up in front! When he sang “ I’m on my knees” he cracked During QPG they were trying to get the crowd to sing the Na na na’s fast.. and he looked up at the balcony and said “ I cant hear you Mom” or something to that effect. “Are you singing, Mom?” it was too cute! During AIHTG, He had his leg stretched out and when he sings “ I’m on my knees” he made this face and gestured at his knee. He went from joy to looking quite pained at times like when he was walking . He had a cane, which just totally fit him, though he used it more for brandishing and humping and air guitar or Brian to steal then to walk with.

"The show was sold out - if not over capacity and it was really shocking to see SOOOO many men and young guys. This was not a lot of teens particularly and not all women by any means. And the mid 20 looking men I saw were into the music so that was really neat. They definitely draw a diverse crowd. Their voices all sounded great and again the thing that just spoke volumes to me again was their incredible chemistry among each other."

*funny moments:
Brian slapped Nick on the ass (please slash people don't make more out of that than what it is lol and don't ask why I was staring at Nick's ass)
Nick either forgot the words to QPG or he started giggling becuase the audience was singing so loudly."
