For most of the day, I've been hearing everything with a whole lotta reverb and echo. My ears were playing up again (well, it happened last March, it's not exactly a monthly occurrence). Bloody annoying mostly, rather than actually painful or anything, though I did feel a bit dizzy and nauseous at times. Though that might have been from not eating much. It's mostly cleared up now, thankfully. Had a quiet day, though.

Went to the rugby last night with dad, my brother and his fiancee, and my sister's friend who has season tickets with us. Second round of Super 12 comp (already? it's not even autumn yet! at least it was very mild so the players weren't keeling over from the heat), and NSW's first home game. They won 48-14, yay! Only them and ACT are undefeated after the two rounds. First half was quite good, second half was a bit blah.

We're looking to network this computer and mum's work laptop, so she can back up documents to here, print and use the cable modem. I was recommended the Belkin 802.11b 4 port wireless gateway/router, combined with a Belkin wireless pcmcia network adapter for the laptop. Anyone got any recommendations, thoughts, suggestions or "for the love of all that's holy, don't buy that!" warnings? Where is the best place to buy such things? So far, best price I can find online is Harvey Norman, which doesn't seem right *g*.

Oops, just blew my download limit. No more fun this month :)

Oh, I can't wait for tomorrow! I've practically got a list of things to race around and download before it's the end of the month overseas, and people take them down :)

Personally I'm not sure how much I trust wireless, but that's neither here nor there. It is definitely massively more expensive, though. Especially if you buy it from Harvey Norman, who will bald-faced lie to you in order to make you buy something more expensive from them rather than shop around. Whatever you do, don't trust anything that the sales guys there tell you. (Seriously. I wanted a basic network hub, HN quoted me $90 at least. I bought it up the road for $34. And just Wednesday one informed my sister that the chapest she'd find a P4 box was there for $2000. Ahahahahaha!)

This is why I'm shocked that the cheapest I've been able to find this particular one is there! *g*

You could try Harris technology. I don't think a lot of them -- their after-sales service is absolute crap -- but they have a wide selection and you can get an idea of industry prices there.

Thanks :) Same price as Harvey Norman, interestingly enough. Must do some comparisons on other models too, I'm not positive that we're gonna go with the Belkin.
