please let this be true

Channel 7 has just had breaking news that two miners, missing in the Beaconsfield Gold mine in Tasmania since rockfalls on Tuesday night, have been found alive, and the rescue effors are obviously continuing.

I can't help thinking of the recent US mine tragedy (in Pennsylvania?) where a group of miners was believed to have been found alive but it later turned out all but one were dead. Please let this be true.

It's hitting all the news services - http://www.smh.com.au/news/national/trapped-miners-found-alive/2006/04/29/1146198389856.html

Un-fricking-believable! I hope it's true too. Big ol' smile on my face. Here's hoping for confirmation soon.

Channel 9's pre-empted CSI for coverage. I believe they've made contact via cameras, not that they've reached them yet, but it's looking damn promising.

They're all looking hugely jubilant on the coverage. Let's hope it's true. It's been five days, they're going to be in pretty rough condition.

There's been something about them being in a cage area, that's what protected them. If they're conscious, seems like air supply has been ok, so dehydration sounds like the most immediate problem (depending on access to supplies of course).

It's really seeming like it could be true :)
